Noor Amin bin Ahmad | Pengarah Pengasas

Amin Ahmad merupakan lulusan Sarjana Muda Sains Perhutanan dari Universiti Putra Malaysia. Minat beliau terhadap isu-isu dasar awam bermula apabila negara berdepan dengan krisis ekonomi-politik pada tahun 1998. Beliau kemudian diangkat menjadi pemimpin pelajar di pelbagai peringkat di universiti. Sejak itu beliau banyak terlibat dalam pelbagai program kepimpinan muda di peringkat nasional, serantau dan antarabangsa antaranya di Amerika Syarikat, Jerman, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Filipina dan Kemboja.

Beliau pernah bekerja di sektor awam, swasta dan badan bukan kerajaan antaranya sebagai Pegawai Komunikasi kepada YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, Penyelaras Projek Kajian Islam dan Demokrasi di Malaysia bersama Merdeka Center for Opinion Research dan Pengurus Projek dan Operasi di Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS). Dengan terasasnya Institute for Leadership and Development Studies (LEAD), beliau kini menjadi Pengarah Pengasas dan kekal bersama IDEAS sebagai Pengasas Bersekutu (Founding Associate). Beliau juga pernah menjadi Penyelaras Perkaderan dan Latihan Pemerhati Pilihan Raya Umum Malaysia dan menjadi calon pilihan raya untuk Parti Keadilan Rakyat dalam Pilihan Raya Umum ke-13.

Amin telah menghasilkan dua buah buku – Ekonomi Pasaran Sosial: Alternatif untuk Malaysia? (2010) dan Pemanasan Global dan Perubahan Iklim (2011) serta menterjemahkan tujuh buah buku antaranya What is Seen and What is Not Seen oleh Frederic Bastiat (2012) dan Economis in One Lesson oleh Henry Hazlitt (2013), selain koleksi artikel jurnal Profesor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Khoo Kay Kim dalam bidang sejarah Malaysia. Puluhan tulisan beliau berkaitan politik, ekonomi dan alam sekitar telah diterbitkan di pelbagai media cetak dan atas talian sejak tahun 2008.

Sejak tahun 2010, beliau telah muncul di pelbagai rancangan bual bicara di saluran 1 Rancangan Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Astro Awani 501 dan Bernama TV untuk membincangkan pelbagai persoalan politik, ekonomi dan sosial.

Amin Ahmad is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Universiti Putra Malaysia. His interest in public policy issues began when the country was hit by economic and political crises in 1998. He then elected as a student leader in the university. Since then, he heavily involved in youth leadership programs at national, regional and international level including United States, Germany, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia.

He worked in public, private and non-governmental service among others as Communication Officer for YAB Dato Menteri Besar Selangor (the Chief Minister of Selangor State Government), Project Coordinator for Research on Islam and Democracy in Malaysia with Merdeka Center for Opinion Research and Project and Operations Manager at Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS). With the founding of Institute for Leadership and Development Studies (LEAD), he remain as a Founding Associate at IDEAS. He was also the Training Coordinator for Malaysian General Election Observers and a party candidate for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in 13th General Election.

Amin has wrote two books – The Social Market Economy: Alternative for Malaysia (2010) and Global Warming and Climate Change (2011) and has already translated eight books including What is Seen and What is not Seen by Frederic Bastiat (2012) and Economics in One Lesson (2013), a collection of journal articles of Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Khoo Kay Kim in the history of Malaysia. Dozens of his work related to politics, economy and environment have been published in various print and online media since 2008.

Since 2010, he appeared on numerous talk shows on TV1 Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), Astro Awani and Bernama TV to discuss various issues of political, economic and social.

Usha Devi Sabanayagam | Founding Board Member

Usha Devi ialah graduan dalam bidang Sains Sosial dari Universiti Malaya dan MA dalam bidang kewartawanan dari Universiti Ateneo De Manila, Filipina.

Beliau pernah menjadi wartawan dan telah terlibat dalam gerak kerja badan bukan kerajaan dalam pelbagai jawatan di Amnesty International Malaysia (AI-M), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Danish Red Cross Asylum Center di Denmark dan kini bersama International Republican Institute (IRI).

Antara projek yang beliau pernah terlibat ialah Pembiayaan Politik, Kebebasan Media dan Kerahsiaan Atas Talian. Semasa bersama TI-M, beliau terlibat dalam pasukan penyelidik yang menghasilkan buku Reformasi Pembiayaan Politik (2008).

Minat beliau ialah dalam urustadbir demokratik, pilihan raya terbuka dan ketinggian undang-undang. Beliau berpengalaman bekerjasama dengan pelbagai parti politik, penjawat awam dan badan bukan kerajaan.

Usha Devi is a graduate in Social Sciences from Universiti Malaya and a MA in journalism from University of Ateneo De Manila, Phillipines.

She was a journalist and has been involved in non-governmental works in various positions at Amnesty International Malaysia (AI-M), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Danish Red Cross Asylum Center in Denmark and now with the International Republican Institute (IRI)

Among the projects she has been involved in Political Funding, Press Freedom and Online Privacy. With TI-M, she was involved in research team that published a book titled Political Funding Reform (2008)

Her research interest is democratic governance, open election, and rule of law. She has worked with various political parties, civil servants and NGOs.

Clement O. | Founding Board Member

 

Clement O. memegang dua ijazah: undang-undang dan kewangan. Beliau pernah menjadi pengamal undang-undang sebelum beralih kepada peguambela korporat.

Beliau pernah menjadi Naib Presiden, Amnesty International Malaysia (AI-M), sebuah cawangan pertubuhan hak asasi manusia antarabangsa. Beliau juga alumni Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

Minat beliau ialah dalam dasar awam berkaitan percukaian, fiskal dan kewangan, serta isu-isu menglibatkan hak asasi manusia.

Clement O. holds double degrees – laws and finance. He was a legal practitioner before becomes a corporate counsel.

He was the Vice President of Amnesty International Malaysia (AI-M), a local chapter of an international human rights organization. He is also an alumni of Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

His research interest includes public policies related to taxation, fiscal and monetary, as well as human rights.

Medecci Lineil | Founding Board Member

Medecci merupakan lulusan Pentadbiran Awam dari Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

Beliau kini bekerja sebagai Eksekutif di Global 20 STEM States yang berpengkalan di Perth, Australia. Beliau pernah bekerja sebagai pembantu penyelidik di Kajian Politik Untuk Perubahan (KPRU) dan Eksekutif Kanan di Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) di mana beliau bertanggungjawab menguruskan projek di Indonesia antara tahun 2011-2012.

Tulisan-tulisan beliau berkaitan ekonomi-politik banyak diterbitkan di portal Free Malaysia Today.

Medecci is a graduate of Public Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He is currently working as an Executive at Global 20 STEM States based in Perth, Australia. He has worked as a research assistant at the Political Studies for Change (KPRU) and Senior Executive at Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) where he was responsible for managing projects in Indonesia between the year 2011-2012.

His writings relating economic political widely published in Free Malaysia Today portal.
